We have a very small dog (smaller then our cats) and it has no fear. Many times we have heard the dog barking out back at something only to find that it was a raccoon and it would run off too quickly to get a shot. This time I went outside with my camera ready to go. I live here in Tennessee also, in a vast greenbelt. All manner of critters here including raccoons, deer, coyotes, even a black bear.
Thankfully we done have any bears in West Tennessee. There have been many of my friends that talk about bobcats being in this area. Greenbelt here as well!
